He carries a mutation of the PARK 8 gene

After his mother had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, Mr Sergey Brin, co-founder of the search engine Google, decided to undergo genetic mapping at the company of his wife, which is sponsored by Google.  He discovered that he is a carrier of mutation G2019S of gene LRRK2, also called PARK8, as his mother is.
The Grigioni Goundation has sponsored a study on the penetrance of this mutation i.e. on the probability that a carrier of the mutation develops the disease.    The study shows that penentrance is  15% at 60 years of age, 21% at 70 and 32% at 80.
