Letter by the AIP Vice-President PDF Print

Dear Friends,

The news that the Bank of Nervous Tissue is operational has filled me with joy.  For this reason I should like to invite the relatives and friends of PD patients, as well as all volunteers to share a few simple thoughts.

When we are dead we cannot take our brain with us and it is a real pity, because it is our brain that induced us to do a lot of pleasant things, such as travelling, studying, working and, above all, loving (the story about the heart is a fairy tale).  The lovely thing is that it doesn't have to belong to a scientist, to a poet or to a sage.  It can easily be the brain of an ordinary person, even one who is a bit “crazy”.  But it will help our researchers with their studies.  When, as we all wish, PD will be curable, the benefits of the use of our brain will continue for generations ….. It’s a sort of immortality, a desire that belongs to man, a certainty about “what happens after we are gone”.

I have shared my thoughts; other, who are competent, will show you how to make your donation.

And now are you at least a little bit happy too ?  Are you fascinated by the idea of leaving something as an inheritance to people you love ? It fascinates me, because it believe in it.
